My name is Kaitlin Meade, and I am a fourth year Athletic Training Student at Emory & Henry College. In addition to the Athletic Training Program at E&H, I am a four year letterman on the E&H Tennis Team, lead alongside many other talented students on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, am an active member and chaplain of Delta Omicron Pi social sorority, and team representative for Movement 1, a service organization for athletes.
As an athletic training student, I am responsible for obtaining a minimum of 150 clinical experience hours with a sports team or an off-site clinic or team per semester. Just a few examples of what I do during those clinical hours are: evaluate and diagnose new injuries, treat acute and chronic injuries using manual therapy, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, taping/bracing, etc., rehabilitate athletes for return to play, monitor athletic practices, provide wound care and any other emergency care that may be needed, splinting experience, coordination of care, concussion management, along with many other responsibilities. Currently, I am receiving clinical experience with Emory & Henry's football team under Cole Ross.
